Delicious johor laksa

I must be missing something cause I don't find anything in this laksa that is remotely close to it's 4.2 stars rating. Cheap, definitely cause ringgit. I do love that the cockles are relatively uncooked. But to be honest, you can have much better laksa just across the causeway.

Malaysian style laksa which is more akin to curry noodles as taste differs from the nonya laksa. Nonetheless, a nice and flavourful less lemak bowl of laksa. Ordered the small serving at RM8, price just up recently from RM7. Beehoon mee with plentiful ingredients of fresh cockles, tau kua, tau kee and fish balls which all taste great. While I favoured the more lemak nonya laksa, this laksa will be my go to when I crave for a lighter version....

Tried another stall located inside Restoran Shang Ji. This stall is pretty well known among Singaporeans. Didn't know they were in the same coffeeshop as the beef noodle that i went to try earlier on. the laksa comes in two portion, RM7 or 8. Addition of cockles is extra RM1. Noodle wise, you can choose from vermicelli, yellow noodle and kway teow. While i was there, noticed many people ordered their food as well.

Ordered their smallest portion with additional cockle and the food came in no time. As compared to the Laksa that i am familiar with in Singapore. the laksa's gravy was more dilute. However, flavor wise, i think its not bad. The bowl of laksa comes with ingredients like fried fishball, beancurd and beancurd skins, very different from the ingredient you would typically find in Singapore.

Overall, not bad but still preferred Singapore's version.

雪蛤肉叻沙米粉麵 $12

今天一大早就來吃叻沙當早餐，
在台灣雖然以前常常吃蚵仔麵線當早餐，
但叻沙倒是第一次！

雪蛤肉叻沙，
然後要米粉麵，
這樣才是當地人在吃的。

雪蛤肉的味道相對一般蛤肉還要重一點，
但相對比較夠味，
餡料還有豆干包，
有點像是油豆腐的概念，
有額外附一個辣沙茶醬當沾醬。

湯頭並不濃郁跟有層次感，
整體來說就中規中矩！

Traditional cockles laksa. 8 or 10 MYR per bowl, depending on size preferred. Taste is delicious. The aunty is very friendly. No meat products used (only seafood). Definitely coming here again.

Nice laksa that worth eating. Noodles are well cooked. Laksa soup is not very thick and they use lesser coconut milk.
Served with fresh ingredients, fried beancurd, beancurf skin, cockles and fried small fishballs. (I am not a cockles fan, so asked not to put cockles)
Chilli is nice, and its given in a saucer, so we can add accordingly to suit the spicy level we can take.
Friendly stall owner.
Reasonable price.

Typical southern laksa style. Same taste since 29 years. Service is good.
My kid can't take spicy so I have ordered wan tan mee at the food store besides Cathay Laksa. Awful taste plus poor service. Friendly reminder for visitor don't try unless you jave no choice.
