Came across this Hakka style restaurant while looking for a dinner spot. Fortunate to be seated before the long queues started. We're pleasantly surprised with most of the dishes! I enjoyed the Pan Seared Pork Belly dish which i will definitely return for 💯 the Abacus Seed dish was delightfully umami and garlicky ❤️ also liked the Beancurd Skin Soup dessert. Prices are very very reasonable. Overall rate it as a will visit again ✌🏻

Fast moving queue despite dinner period. Dined in for 2 pax and ordered pig stomach soup, 算盘子, fried rice, 红油抄手, peach gum dessert.

Soup is peppery and flavourful and fried rice pretty good. Dumplings normal but ok and the 算盘子 heavily laced caipo makes the dish wonderful.

Very enjoyable meal and abit over order for 2 pax.

It's Hakka food with a slight modern fusion twist. You get fries in a Chinese restaurant. I love surprises and this place food combination is not the norm . Orange chicken have it's own twist but I like their orange peel that elevate the transition of a sweet sauce chicken to something having another layer of texture and taste. Non alkaline water noodles have it's wholesome chew . Dumpling is done good and salted fish meat patty has the traditional take to the table. Overall a nice decor up eatery that bring a traditional cuisine to the modern audience.

While shopping at Mid Valley, we stumbled upon Ke Ren Lai and decided to give it a try — and we’re so glad we did! The space is warm, clean, and inviting, with large table setups (almost too generous — the space between my husband and I felt a little far for sharing dishes 😅).

We came in for the homemade yam abacus, and it did not disappoint — crispy, fragrant, and full of wok hei. Would’ve loved a bit more mushroom, but for the price, it’s still great value. I’d totally order another serving if I had the stomach space!

We also ordered the pan-seared pork belly set, cordyceps nourishing soup, and the beancurd skin soup with ginkgo to share. The pork belly was a standout — tender, flavourful, and perfectly cooked.

The cordyceps soup, however, leaned quite sweet — with more goji berries, longan, and red dates than actual cordyceps (just two strands), which was a bit of a letdown. I was hoping for a more savoury, herbal profile.

We ended with the beancurd skin soup for dessert — light and delightful! Would definitely come again, though next time I might try the pig stomach soup instead.

Very busy but the service and queue management is quite efficient.

The food is excellent, very well seasoned and not at all subtle. If you like lighter flavours this is probably not for you.

The smoked chicken is exceptional, accompanied by crisp sweet potato fries and a small salad.

Prices are reasonable, the sets make for tasty filling meals.

KeRenLai serves Hakka food. We tried the Thunder Fried rice which is very tasty. The spicy wanton is not so spicy. The 算盘子 is also soft, chewy and nice. There's some additional strips of added vegetables to go along with it. The Thunder milk tea is very refreshing with a herb and milky taste. Worth trying! Seats are very comfortable and business is good there. Total cost around RM 72.

Thunder tea lovers gonna love this! Had their thunder tea and thunder tea milk tea - and was blown away! My hubby ordered this pork chop rice with chicken floss. Loved everything we ordered.

Staff were friendly and cozy ambience with nice decor.

Overall, it was a satisfying meal. The 黄酒鸡 stood out with its strong wine aroma and rich flavour 🥹👍🏻definitely worth a try. The 猪骨汤面 was also impressive, with a flavorful and hearty broth. Unfortunately, the 虫草汤 was unavailable during my visit, so I didn’t get to try it. The 莲藕汤 came in a generous portion and the taste was decent, but personally, I preferred the first two dishes more. One unexpected surprise was the 擂茶drink, it had a unique flavor profile, quite special and refreshing. 😊😊☺️
