I ordered a tiramisu birthday cake from HOW, and it was surprisingly delicious! The sweetness was just right.. not too sweet and perfectly balanced. I’m definitely interested to try their other cake flavours next time.

I had such a great experience at the baking class today! 🧁 The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, which made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. I really appreciated that all the ingredients were already weighed and prepared before the class started — it saved a lot of time and let us focus fully on the baking.

The instructor was very patient and attentive, offering guidance whenever needed, which made me feel comfortable and confident throughout. At the end of the session, I was able to take home a beautifully assembled cake that I made myself — such a satisfying feeling!

Overall, it was a wonderful way to spend the day learning new skills. Highly recommend this workshop to anyone interested in baking!

Review based solely on my personal experience.

While searching for baking classes online, I came across HOW Academy and decided to try their hands-on class after previously attending a session at ABC Studio. Since I live abroad and was only back in Malaysia for a short holiday, I wanted to make the most of my time and opted to book a private class with HOW instead.

My communication with Amelia via WhatsApp was warm and responsive. She was accommodating, and I booked private sessions in late July for classes scheduled in September.

However, I did encounter some issues on the day of the class. There seemed to be a miscommunication regarding the photo session, which I had confirmed with Amelia over the phone. Unfortunately, the instructor on-site relayed a different message, which was confusing and disappointing. Upon my arrival, I also didn’t feel particularly welcomed, I was asked to put my belongings aside and wait for the instructor to begin the session. I stood for about 10–15 minutes before the class started.

Due to the miscommunication, I had to speak with Amelia by phone. During the conversation, I found it difficult to fully express my concerns, as I was interrupted and asked to let her finish speaking. I understand that misunderstandings happen, but I would have appreciated a more open and empathetic approach, especially as a paying client.

In terms of the class itself, although it was advertised as a private two-hour session (RM800 for two baking lessons), the entire session wrapped up in about three hours, during which both lessons were combined. The instructor appeared to be in a hurry, possibly due to the studio closing at 4 PM, and this resulted in a rushed learning experience. Don’t get me wrong, it was still fruitful.

In hindsight, I believe a group class would have suited me better. With more time to learn at a comfortable pace, it might have been a more enjoyable and enriching experience.

While I appreciate the effort that goes into organizing these classes, I hope this feedback can be helpful for future improvements, especially in managing expectations and creating a more welcoming, customer-focused environment.

The teacher is friendly and really knows how to teach despite the age group. Specific when it comes to explaining the ingredients or what to take note on. Our crossaints came out well thanks to her guidance and I managed to learn a few things about baking. The interior has a cozy and aesthetic vibe which makes learning how to bake 100× better compared to at home.

We had an amazing baking experience! We chose to make the Jasmine Osmanthus Green Grape Cake, and the result turned out absolutely perfect 🌟💯

The instructor was incredibly friendly and kind. His guidance was clear, precise, and easy to follow—even for beginners like us! He shared plenty of helpful baking tips throughout the session and kept encouraging us in such a positive way. He even complimented us on our "natural baking talent" as first-timers hahaha!

The piping session was definitely the most challenging part, but the instructor was super patient. He allowed us to practise several times before decorating the final cake. Even when we messed up, he came to the rescue and skillfully fixed our piping—definitely the magician and savior of the day!

Overall, the class was full of laughter and such a fun, memorable experience. Highly recommended!

I was curious to try this cake because of the unique yam and pandan flavour combo, something new for me. The pandan sponge cake, creamy yam, and coconut jelly made a lovely mix of textures and flavours, and it wasn't too sweet. Plus, the cake looked stunning and refined, perfectly matching its delicate taste. If you enjoy pandan or taro (like my mom does), this is definitely worth a try!

Ordering was easy thanks to Jia Yeen, who was very helpful and arranged same-day delivery without any issues. Since it’s a fresh cream cake and I needed to travel for an hour, I kept it in a cooler bag with an ice brick, and it stayed fresh throughout the trip.

A lovely cake paired with excellent service made it a treat worth sharing. You might enjoy it too! 🙂
