Located in a landed residential unit, this eatery has a section that serves Lei Cha, Niang Toufu etc and a 2nd section that serves Cai Ban, with different ordering and payment system. Lei Cha's very good! Remember to order the fried pork which is marinated in fermented tofu (lam yu).

From the 1st section, I ordered the Niang Toufu, make payment and the food will be sent to my table. For the 2nd section, a buzzer will be issued after I place the order and when the Cai Ban is read (fresh from the steamer), I will pick up the food & make payment. Cai Ban is really unique, light tasting as it consists of either leek, chives or jicama (mang guang) & beancurd bits and dried shrimp.

Came to this place for lunch with a friend. This is my first time here. This place is famous for their Choi Pan and Thunder tea rice. I ordered their Nasi Lemak, fried pork and Yong Tau Foo to try as well. All are good😀👍.

Much to our disappointment, the famous LeiCha and chai kuih were sold out by the time we got there (around 13:15, the shop closes at 14:00).
The boss was kind to recommend a few other dishes.

The pork noodles was nice, they made do with the ingredients as some ran out.
The fried rice would be better with less salt/soy sauce.
The mee hun kuey was chewy, it'd be better as well if it was less salty 😅

Quite tasty but you don't quite get a kampong vibe as this place is impeccably well run and polished. Still probably the best place to chill at Kelapa Sawit.

Soon Kueh here is similar to Kedai Makanan Hakka Sawit 好客坊客家小吃店. But still a tad too sweet and not salty (punchy) enough for me...

Still wondering which is the supplier of turnip soon kueh to Wee Hoi Gelang Patah... Those are the best of the best....

So far no soon Kueh in Kelapa Sawit has surpassed my all time favourite Fatt Soon Kueh at Bedok Hawker Center in Singapore yet.

The hunt continues... 😼

Discovered this Lei Cha also known as Thunder tea here in Kulai. Took a chance to visit this place before going to Johor Premium Outlets.

Apparently Kulai is known for being a Hakka town. There are quite a lot of places selling Lei Cha. I chanced upon this place after seeing it on social media and decided to try it out.

This is my second time eating Lei Cha as most of those that I have seen are clear broth. This is quite interesting as the broth is green in color. It appears to be tea leaves grind into a paste and mixed with a pre made broth to give it an extra flavor. There is a slight hint to basil which gives it a distinct aroma. The meat in the rice was stirred fried with some long beans. The entire dish was a mix of savoury, aromatic and crispy. It was so wonderful. You can order some tauhu, eggplants and bittergourd with meat to go along with your meal.

Total cost for 2 Lei Cha, 1 Mee Hoon Kuay, 3 Tauhu, 3 bitter gourd, 3 eggplant and 1 fried pork cost only 43RM.

Further inside you will also find a soon kueh shop. There are 2 variants, 1 the normal soon kueh and the other is filled with chives. Each cost 1.50RM and is value for the taste. Turnip taste was sweet and the skin was quite chewy.

Overall, despite the long drive, this place was very value for money and the food was surprisingly good. It delivered all expectations and taste.

This is my second time visiting Man Ting Fang in Kulai, and it won’t be my last. My wife really likes their Garlic Chives Dumplings. The dumplings are fresh, tasty, and nicely made. Definitely worth trying if you love dumplings.

Chai pan has two types i.e. leek and gu chai. Man guang kueh is quite peppery. The kueh skin is quite chewy and thin. Le chai fan is quite tasty but bit oily, soup is gd mix of basil and mint.
Yang tau fu is filled with generous amount of minced pork.
