First visited on Thursday 4.30pm…limited food choices…drink stall, wanton mee, 2-3 otak stalls, chicken rice & oyster omelette. One shop lady told me that as many stalls open EARLY in the morning thus they close early. Bought some otak and new year goodies only.
Visited again on Friday 8.30am and this place looks more ‘alive’ with more food options. Many coffeeshops nearby selling a good variety of food.

Jalan Haji Abu is also known as Glutton Street or Tam Chiak Street. We were spoiled for choice when it came to deciding which stall to patronize for Muar's famous otak. The food we tried included Mr Otak-Otak and Ah Choy Wan Tan Mee.

Nice roadside stalls. Most of the stalls are closed by the time we went at around 8pm. There are only 2 otak stalls, 1 wanton noodle stall, 1 bao stall and a desert stall. So we dabao some otaks, baos. We walked past a corridor and had a kolok mee and fried carrot cake which is very nice and traditional

If you want to try some of Muar's popular dishes, this is the place to be. Here you can try Muar's famous otak otak, Chow Kuey Teow, soya drinks, coconut drinks, tau sar pia, and many other dishes. Best time to come is in the morning or at lunchtime. Otherwise, you set yourself for disappointment. As a result, some of the poor rating here. As the saying, goes, "The early bird catches the worm." To be fair, once they are sold out they are gone for the day.
