I'm not really recommending this place. First, the chicken is not tender and is a bit chewy. The chicken sesame sauce is quite heavy. I prefer tender and a bit light sesame.The rice is cold and sticky, like Malay bamboo sticky rice. You need to wait 30 to 40 minutes for queue.

Them only selling chicken rice..
But the service is very good and fast.

Food was ok not really impressive but good to eat. The service was really really bad. No one came to serve us until we looked for them. Served us the food with empty sauce plate and we have to look for them again for the chili sauce. Quite disappointed.

Food was decent. The rice was pretty nice but a little too mushy for my liking , flavour was nice tho. The chicken has a bite to it and was nice and a good amount of sesame oil to it. This version of chicken rice does not come with any veges except for some slices of cucumber. It wasn't a wholesome meal cause there weren't much fibre to it nor soup as the dish was pretty much served room temperature. Service was fast , there wasn't any queue when we arrived as it was a weekday. Overall it was ok and good that I manage to try a local chicken rice ball shop which is unique to Melaka.

I still remember four years ago, before the MCO, there used to be long queues outside this place, whether it was a weekday or a weekend. But today, it’s Thursday, and there was no queue at all, which really surprised me. We just walked in and ordered half a chicken and 15 chicken rice balls with drinks for about RM41.50 for 2 persons. The price was a bit higher compared to regular chicken rice. We waited for about 10 minutes. Not bad at all! I absolutely loved the white chicken; it was so juicy, and the sesame sauce matched perfectly with the chicken. And that chili sauce—amazing! It’s a must with chicken rice, for me. As for the rice balls, they were just average, similar to other chicken rice, but perhaps their ball shape made them seem a bit more expensive? The surrounding environment evoked the taste of the olden days, a nostalgic flavor of a bygone era. However, they didn’t provide tissues, so I had to spend RM1.00 to buy a pack for my own use.

One of the best Hainan chicken rice you shall try if you come to Malacca. This restaurant is located at a convenient site just beside the Jonker Walk street. I like the authentic Hainan chicken taste and the chicken rice balls. It takes about 30 minutes of queuing up and waiting. The price is reasonable. 😋

19-Aug-24, taste this for the first time as a Malaccan. Convinced that it is an overrated chicken rice. TL;DR, just skip this place and try other chicken rice shop with better food quality, price, service, and ambience.

My first impression when reach here, no more long queue like before MCO. I just enter the shop and sit down, without anyone bother to serve me. Not feel welcoming at all, as their waiters are not friendly. Their service is so cold, you don't even feel hot in this hot weather.

Food is limited with set of chicken and rice balls. No roasted chicken, only boiled (white cut). No chicken rice, only rice balls. As I eat alone, I can only order 1 person set, which has chicken + 5 rice balls. These cost me RM17.50, what the... Can get the same food for less than half price in any other food court.

For the food taste, chicken presentation is really bad. Taste also so-so. But chicken rice balls taste ok, compact and flavorful. But I don't think it worth to try again with its unreasonable price. I also ordered hot tea. Taste blend and only sugar flavor, and cost RM2.50.

I feel that shop owner just don't bother to improve the business. The workers are unmotivated, the food is limited, and the ambience feel like the business is going bust anytime. It's a shame as this location is very strategic at the gate of jonker street.

麻六甲最有人氣的雞粒飯，用餐時間會大排長龍，我們13:30左右到就只剩下最後16顆雞粒飯，運氣很好沒排隊因為已經接近打烊時間，疫情前來過一次，味道一樣鮮美。

I was somehow cheated by some good reviews. The chicken with bones, plain and tasteless that must eat with chili, and quality and price is not as good as the nearby chicken shop, which served with onion and soya source, and cleaner environment.

The first plate of chicken even came with a hairy hair, though they quickly changed another plate for us after we asked..
