Situated in the compound of a temple in Pokok Asam, this is a bustling restaurant patronised mainly by locals in the area. They must be doing something right as the customers were streaming in until well after 9 pm.

I tried 4 dishes here:
1. Layered chicken and ham with salted egg - one of their signature dishes. The taste was interesting but not really outstanding.
2. Mantis prawn with salted egg - the mantis prawn was fried until crispy and well coated in a flavourful salted egg sauce. This is Recommended.
3. Fried fish in Assam sauce - pretty decent but the sauce could be more sour or piquant.
4. Vegetable in garlic sauce - pretty standard and not exceptional.

Prices are reasonable, which may be the main draw here. Outdoor seating when the weather permits, is quite nice.

Neighbourhood restaurant. Plenty of seating. Friendly & attentive staff. Clean & bright. Rather popular. Mixed bag when comes to prices. Parking shouldn't be a problem.

We tried handful of their dishes. Average at best. Nothing special to call out. Food came out pretty quick although we were like the early few. Business picked up soon after & could see people waiting on their meals. Overall a decent dinner.

Super yummy food at reasonable prices. 5 adults and 3 kids at RM115. Ordered salted egg mantis prawn, curry pork ribs, sweet potato leaves, pumpkin tofu and omelette.

Dishes are either too salty or tasteless. Come here only if you have low blood pressure.

Great Food, Slow Service
Loved the salted egg butter prawns and clay pot pork — delicious and flavourful. Just be ready to wait about an hour for your food.
