Ordered the chicken chop and immediately regretted it. It smelled off like it had been thawed from the Ice Age and slapped on the grill. Texture? Rubbery. Flavor? MIA. But the real kicker? The service. Absolutely abysmal. Both owners were glued to their phones like they were livestreaming a masterclass in how not to run a restaurant. No greeting, no check-ins, no basics. Had to ask for everything....chilli sauce, serviettes, you name it. Felt more like I was intruding on their break than dining out. Not ready to serve, not ready to care.

Hainanese chicken chop has a good old traditional styled taste, chicken is juicy and nice, sauce is slightly sweet for me but naturally it’s the taste it should have, so it’s personal preference only.
Hainanese fried noodle is very nice as well, the soup is rich in taste, pairing it with the chilli is great as well.
Traditional ice coffee is not as good, needs improvement there.
Would love to try their shepherd pie next time.

Old-styled Penang cafe serving traditional Hainanese chicken chop (which did not originate from Hainan Island!) Generous portion of fried battered chicken chop served on a bed of potato wedges with a side of mixed vegetables , all swimming in the traditional chicken chop sauce. While the chicken chop is succulent, the sauce is the real winner!

Old school vibes and home cooked food. Had the Hainanese chicken chop and is so good!!!! Is not easy to find good eateries like this anymore. Love love.

Khoon Pastry House located at Penang Island is an old cafe and seems popular with the Hainanese chicken chop. The Hainanese chicken chop was acceptable in taste but portion wise can be improved and more generous with the sides for the price charged.

The chicken mushroom pie was a disappointment and it is not worth the price. The gravy was not thick and tasty with mostly cooking cream with tiny pieces of chicken and veggies. The shepherd’s pie was alright and worth trying. Pandan layered cake was good but it was slightly overpriced at RM6.50 for a thin slice.

The food are nice, especially the Hainanese chicken chop, Hainan noodles & shepherd pie, authentic Hainanese food. I like the environment. If you know Hainanese, can converse in Hainanese with the Peh Ler, he's very friendly.

I go for childhood style sliced cakes packed individually in plastic wrapper.carrot, butter,marble& chocolate; verdict: marble stand out with buttery aroma sweetness enough to taste good & fresh

It's a cozy little restaurant that brings u back to the old days.

Food is delicious. Try their chicken chop, hainan fried noodle, fried spring roll, chicken pie and chicken rice. The fish and chip is also surprisingly good, tasted different from the conventional ones served in other places.
