Made a reservation for dinner at 7pm prior,the Manager advised better to select from Menu she forwarded ,so no will be no waiting time. Arrived at Restoran at 7pm, waitress lead us to Reserved Table. Service is good, room is cosy n nice but waiting for food was one (1 ) hour.

After i asked the waitress about our food, only then we got served the first dish which is deep fried crispy chicken at 8pm. It is not crispy but tough. Fried rice pineapple shrimp is very salty,could chew the salt in between the rice. The chef seems very generous with salt, it is salty for the butter prawn too. 4 hot dish combination followed by Sharkfin ham crabmeat soup are good Last came the sayur manis which tasted delicious.

They miss out our order on braised trotter !!!
We were very disappointed thus we told them to cancel it as we might have to wait for it to be cooked !!!!

The Manager did not approach to apologise for her mistake and food delay,
indeed a very very bad dinner experience for my family !!!!

Maxim's is tucked away in a side street 5 minutes walk from the LA Hotel. It is a large Chinese-style restaurant, with friendly and attentive staff. By the standards of Tawau it is quite upmarket - though with prices that are low when compared with those of major cities. Main courses work out at no more than USD 5 per head - though it is a good idea to also order rice and perhaps vegetables. The service is efficient and friendly. The restaurant is clean, well maintained, and air conditioned - with staff in uniform and crisp linen on all the tables.
