On my first trip to Melaka in March, did my foodie research and came across Michelle Soo, I did text her pre-departure and as I didn’t have enough time and her shop is out of the way, we bought some from a restaurant we ate at. When I got back, I wrote to her and she told me I could have arranged for grab delivery to the hotel.
This time, I ordered one week prior to collection and found out due to the proximity to the dumpling festival, all hokkien chang are sold out. Michelle answered all my questions and collection changes patiently even during this festive period - and I was very thankful she accommodated my delivery time. I was a little worried after reading one review on chang being mushy - I ate a day after collection and it was delicious, the grains were plump and flavourful. More importantly, look at the yolk - legit luscious and well oiled unliked some other egg yolk pastries I have tried.
I highly recommend a pre-order in advance (contact her at least a day earlier), pick up some of her delicious and authentic chang if one ever pass this town. I love to visit her outskirt shop one day to enjoy the idyllic experience and instore shopping of whatever else she might make.
She is not the cheapest in Melaka town though I doubt one can get a chang that price in SG, not to mention it is so good.

Taste Michelle's nonya bakchung once, & you are hooked! We've tasted bakchungs in many establishments, including in Singapore. None beats Michelle's. Brilliant value for money.
We take the pilgrimage from Seremban to Melaka regularly just for those bakchungs. She does several other ones too. But we are firm fans of her nonya bakchung. You can phone in to book your order, so you can be sure you are not disappointed.
However, you will need your GPS to find this little gem.

I ordered Nyonya salted egg dumplings and vegetarian dumplings but none was given it was all pork but was charged salted egg dumplings prices. It's a nice scenic drive out of town to the batu berendam area and to see fruits and plants. The house could be easily missed as it is a narrow road turning in if one is not careful. Not really great could have had it in other areas. Such a bummer to be paid highly-priced for a dumpling and taken home with the same variety when we ordered a different variety.

Their Nyonya Chang is the best I had so far and their Hokkien Bak Chang also not bad. They gave one whole salted egg yolk, which is my favorite. As for their red bean Ki Chang, it will be better if it can have more red bean inside and make it sweeter. Overall is nice their Chang. Will definitely purchase again if going to Malacca, specially their Nyonya Chang.
