AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COST.
We are retirees ( 4 pax ) and travel extensively to enjoy food and places. And as regular customers, we are quite familiar with food prices vis a vis the restaurant types, the food types, the services and environment.
We were virtually ripped off for the dish shown in the photo; 3 slices of sting ray steamed in salted vegetables which we ordered for a small portion.
This dish was charged at a staggering RM72. When we questioned the lady boss on the price, she said she wasn't aware of the price and directed us to ask the rude elderly lady waitress. We asked both how much the sting ray fish was priced at per kg basis.
They both tried to explain in uncertain terms and excuses as to seasonal price surge, different specie etc and finally told that the sting ray price was RM120 per kg. This exorbitant price was even more expensive than river fish such as Sultan fish ( Jelawat ), Tengalan fish and only just slightly cheaper than marble goby.
Service was pretty rude and the place was infested with houseflies as evident from the dead houseflies trapped on the flypaper/fly trap at the cash counter.
Ignore this advice at your own loss.

One of my old time favourite,I have not visited this restaurant for a very long time .this is my first visit since they moved to this premises. It feels more spacious and better ventilated due to the high ceilings, but the place is still infested with flies—lots of them. As for the food, it’s limited to the old menu without any new additions. The old favourites, boiled octopus and fried kambong fish, were sold out. I managed to try the crab porridge and tofu fried with leeks. Although the crab porridge was palatable, it was much better before. The tofu with leeks maintained its status.

The crab porridge is now RM107 for a double. I remember paying around RM30 many years ago. I’m not sure if this is reasonable, but I do pay much more at Soon Chi, probably around RM150. As for seafood, the prices vary according to the weight of the crab or fish.

Overall, it’s still a place worth visiting if you happen to be in Nibong Tebal. Other than the crab and fish, the dishes are reasonably priced.

One of the best I tried. The veggies cook with what I thought is salted fish but local called it flat fish, super delicious. So does the seafood porridge. The marinated pork is quite good also.

While I considered the food here not too bad, I am truly appalled at the flies flying around the whole restaurant. We could not eat in peace as every second was spent waving the flies away. It also didn’t seem as though the owner had included extra steps to curb this problem, except a few of those sticky fly traps at the cashier area, which was already full with dead flies when we arrived.

Food was great. The crab porridge is still good. But prices has increased since my last visit and service is not exactly the best. We arrived at 830pm for dinner and we understand if most of the dishes were sold out. But the lady who took our order was relatively rude. We asked if there’s still octopus, she said “sold out, and even if there’s octopus, other ppl will get it first. 輪不到你們”.

Food is good but we are so disappointed with the services.

We ordered stir fry lala with bean paste, crab porridge and stir fry taufu with leek. Over all thee food is delicious and the price is reasonable. Will come back again to try the fried pork knuckle.

Food is actually ok unfortunately the shop has wayyyyyyyy tooooo manyyyyyy fliesssssss flying around and we even had a dead fly inside our tofu dish when it is served.

Im sorry but this number of flies flying around in your shop where customers are supposed to eat their meal is just not acceptable.

The person who take our order is also not friendly and didnt even apologize when we asked for an exchange for the tofu dish that has a dead fly in it.

Do not come unless u wish to share ur meal with the flies.
