ate here while waiting for our room to be ready. ordered a latte the coffee is good. had also our breakfasts here. really love the nasi lemak . the staffs here are very friendly and knowledgeable. keep up the great work and keep up the food quality. oh yes, a very wide range of food during breakfast buffet.

They didn't have a proper trained chef, can't even get their egg right, poached egg more like slime, for breakfast? It's joke..for their price it's not worth to wake up for let alone to pay for it. The place too small and their crowd control being managed terribly.

i went for Seafood On The Rock available every Saturday Night. the food are so yummy! i love it! Verity of choices with supper afodable price. will repeat again!

I went to starz diner for my birthday dinner buffet with my gf. The food is just average. Roasted beef slice basically tasteless and grilled lamb is just a lamb slices almost taste the same like the roasted beef. I gave the extra points for presentation but taste wise is zero. I cant even feel the meat is hot. The seafood is just somehow fresh and sashimi are OK. Lobster is only the food with limited quotas which not meant to be re-fillable once it is out. There is variety of cakes and ice cream for desserts.

I had breakfast that is part of the stay here. As a 5-star hotel, i have high expectations, but deeply regret to say that in terms of environment & appearance, it is a major disappointment. The hotel rooms may be 5 stars but this eating place is your typical malaysian 3 stars hotel standard. Even the breakfast spread reflects that. Your typical mee goreng, nasi lemak, porridge, sausages & bread, cereals, eggs and omeletes & some pastries. I was expecting some international themed options like middle eastern, japanese and european fares but it is nowhere to be seen. Not only the decor is is 3-star, even the dining space is lacking, that resulted in the hotel having to arrange staggered visit time for the guests, yet even then guests had to be queueing for some time in order to wait for an available table.

BUT

the saving grace is their very attentive and speedy floor staffs. they're helpful and quick to assist in clearing your tables or fetching you cutleries/napkins, topping up on food & replacing cups & plates. food spread while local, is good and tasty. the pastries are delicious and one could really wallop a lot without feeling nauseated. So in a way i feel conflicted in slamming down this place. Nevertheless, it is what it is, considering the room rate we're paying i do have some expectations to look forward to. so i hope the hotel management would enlarge the dining area and consider widening food choices. Those who wants to eat local food can have it anywhere outside of hotel, it is Penang after all. Let's keep the standard as a 5-star hotel up to a certain standard.
