We just arrived in Penang yesterday after a long flight and decided to have lunch here. We ordered the lunch set menu and the rib-eye steak, both were excellent. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, probably because of the rain, which made the atmosphere calm and relaxing.

We ended up staying for almost four hours before heading to their sister restaurant, Choux Choux, for dessert — just a short five-minute walk away. The food suited our taste perfectly: mild, well-balanced flavors, beautifully cooked, and presented with that signature French touch.

It was truly a delightful dining experience — the kind that reminds you to slow down and savor each moment. If you’re planning to visit, take your main course at Two Frenchies and continue your culinary journey with desserts at Choux Choux. A perfect duo for anyone who loves authentic French comfort food in the heart of Penang.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant recently and was immediately charmed by its warm and welcoming ambiance. The atmosphere felt inviting yet elegant, setting the perfect stage for a relaxed dining experience.

For my meal, I tried the Papillote de poisson, served with fluffy basmati rice. The fish was cooked to perfection—tender, moist, and delicately seasoned—while the rice complemented it with a light, airy texture.

Curious about the traditional touch, I also sampled Ricard, a classic French liquor known for its strong star anise aroma. While it’s certainly distinctive and beloved by many, I found its intense flavor to be a little overwhelming for my palate.

Overall, the restaurant delivered a memorable dining experience with its excellent food and warm hospitality, making it a place worth revisiting.

The French cuisine here is truly authentic and irresistibly delicious. The set lunch offers excellent value, including a tasty soup, a delightful main course, and a sweet dessert. I savored a cheesy seafood gratin that was simply mouthwateringly delectable. Be sure to try the escargot, cooked to perfection and served piping hot — a real treat! This meal was unforgettable, and I can't wait to return to Penang to enjoy it all over again.

It was a pleasant dining experience at Two Frenchies.
Really enjoyed the soup of the day (green peas soup) which was so creamy and delicious.
Then tried their classic oven-baked, five-hour lamb which was served with carrot puree and rice. The lamb was so tender and flavourful. It tasted amazing together with the puree and the rice.
Hot chocolate needs to be improved as I was expecting it would be delicious like the one I had at France.
Staffs were so friendly and attentive. Although the food is a splurge, it's a delicious and worthwhile experience. Definitely will visit again soon.

The best thing about Two Frenchies is definitely the food! And also the fact that it’s pet friendly 🐶💕 If you’ve read any of my other reviews you know I’m a big pet lover and am always hunting for good pet friendly eateries. Two Frenchies is certainly one of them!

The duck confit 🦆 as other reviews have mentioned, is thoroughly scrumptious and one of the best options 😋 Just writing about it now is making me want to go back for seconds❣️ The other food options are also pretty good, but the duck confit was definitely the highlight for us ⭐️

Of course as you’ve probably guessed parking is an issue here especially on a weekend. There’s a paid parking space adjacent to it but it fills up pretty quickly and is also quite exorbitant. As for the atmosphere of the restaurant itself, it’s long and narrow and can get quite cramped and noisy, but it’s well worth the yummy food. I’ll definitely be going back to sample other dishes…or maybe just get the duck confit again 😉

Really good food and service. We had an excellent duck confit with buttery mash. Pan fried halibut with a cream sauce which cooked well with a crispy skin and it tasted fresh; and a bacon carbonara pasta which was quite rich. For dessert we shared some custard puffs with cream which was divine! Price on the high side but it’s worth it. This is a pet friendly restaurant and we saw with a few small dogs there.

Very nice french cuisine at a cozy settings. The food are mostly expertly cooked and decorated, delicious and uses fresh ingredients. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It is a very pleasant experience. The price is a bit higher than typical restaurants.

Nice place to hangout with family and friends! The food was good, fresh and the services are very good as well! Went there during lunch hour, and soon enough the restaurant was full with customers. For those who eat beef, I’m recommending the beef with mashed potatoes dish (forgot the name). My friend recommend to try the escargot as it is very fresh!
