Visited Restaurant Yip Sheng for lunch for the first time, and it was a pretty memorable experience.

One thing to note right away—there’s no printed menu with standard pricing. Instead, you’ll find the list of available dishes posted on the wall, which might be a bit confusing for first-timers like us. Prices aren’t displayed clearly, and to be honest, I found them a little on the higher side. But in terms of taste, they really delivered.

Since we weren’t sure what to go for, we asked the waitress for recommendations and decided to try several of their flagship dishes. Every single one turned out to be delicious—well-prepared with quality ingredients and full of flavor. You can tell the chefs here know what they’re doing.

A nice bonus was the complimentary soup of the day, which was comforting and tasty—always a pleasant touch.

The restaurant has a traditional Chinese dining vibe, with a simple setup and a steady stream of regulars, which speaks to their reputation. Staff were friendly and helpful when we asked for suggestions.

Overall, while the lack of a proper menu and pricing transparency could be improved, the food speaks for itself. Great for small group meals or family gatherings if you’re okay with a slightly higher budget.

Would return again to try more dishes—but next time, I’ll ask about prices before ordering just to avoid surprises. 😉

Family restaurants, you can order dishes and have a round table dinner with family and friends, all the dishes tastes great. They famous and good for their pork zhu jiao jing, very tender chewy and yummy. Try also their crispy pork , veggies, tofu, all great! Happy celebrations!

Their hokkien char (fried noodle with black sauce) is good. Besides, you must try their pork belly with sweet sauce, really good.

Typical a/c Chinese 'tai chau' restaurant. Delicious food. We ordered nyonya fish, veg n pork.. A bit on the sweet side.

Came here for the first time for lunch.
Had a bit of a tough time deciding on what to order as this restaurant doesn't have a printed menu. 😅 We ordered all the flagship dishes that the captain recommended to us and it didn't disappoint!
The bill came up to rm270++ for 8 pax.
There is a complimentary soup of the day too.
We really loved the fried Tilapia and the har cheong fried pork.
Would definitely visit again if we are in the area.

delicious food and fast service. people have started to queue up even before the restaurant has opened!
food is served really fast. they serve an appetizer first, which is soup! their soup is really nice. nyonya双鲜 is very flavorful! 脆皮花肉 is top notch, 奶沙鱼肉 is also really good but it felt like it needed some sauce to dip on.
you have to come early if you didnt book for small table.

A very popular restaurant which can get noisy and crowded especially on weekends and public holidays. Food is generally good but pricing is somewhat on the high side.

The whole tilapia deep fried in sweet sour sauce was perfectly crispy with a tangy tomato gravy. My vegetable order was mixed up and I got a cabbage instead of baby kailan but it was still pretty good.

Their signature braised chicken with pork in a claypot is Highly Recommended. It's fragrant with curry leaves and best enjoyed with a plate of hot rice.

Steamed tilapia with Nyonya sauce is a good balance of sweet and spicy. Brinjal with minced meat in a Claypot is a popular order for a good reason and is Recommended as well.
