Newly renovated. All items are fresh directly from Muar, Johor. Love their Cawan Mas Kopi-O & Bean Cakes - Special, Salty & Sweet, and Otak-otak - fish. Recommend for those like old time favour of cookies & coffee. Good place to buy as gift or souvenirs. Some selfish aunties customer like to misused of the shop reserved parking for customer, they like to park either before or after enter the shop and go to nearby bank, pharmacy, cake shop, Chinese Medical Hall & etc to do their own stuff (nothing related to the shop business) in long period of time, the staff was too kind & scare to offend the customer also. If this practice still continue, many customer will give up to visit or shop at your store and go to somewhere else, since the traffic & parking in USJ Taipan area is super busy even sometimes no chance for double parking, and the local authority MBSJ is very active to clamp any double parking’s car in that area. The Management in Muar should look into this matter seriously

My favourite brand for mooncakes, first-time nyonya flavour created by them. Since then, every year never miss their affordable mooncakes with many nice creations packaging.

This year, 2022...surprise to see they have 3 new flavours for Dragon boat festival. Consequences, my daughter back from abroad has a chance to taste it before the festival. Quite pricey with such portion but Chinese always say, "1 year 1 time eat only."....yeah, this kind of theme good for sellers or traders, not for consumers. Their Nyonya Coconut and Royal Redbean worth trying but not Nyonya Dumpling....no spicy, a bit sweet, texture too dry with minced chicken instead of sambal. Other two flavours are sweet tooth like Nyonya kuih.

I visited Yong Sheng Gift Shop around 9:30 AM to buy some mooncakes, although the shop wasn’t set to open until 10 AM. While waiting, I observed an elderly couple, likely in their 70s, move the shop’s "Customer Parking" sign to park in front of the store. Just before the shop opened, I overheard another customer, who seemed to be a regular, harshly scolding the elderly man as he waited patiently. The customer accused him of parking there for hours, but I personally saw that the couple had only been parked for less than 30 minutes.

What bothered me most was the reaction of the shop staff—they stood by silently as this customer berated the elderly man. Shortly after, the elderly man’s wife returned to the shop and confronted the staff, explaining that they had moved the sign to park at 9:30 AM because they intended to make a purchase when the store opened.

The situation escalated when the man who had scolded them parked his car behind theirs, effectively blocking them in. At the cashier, the elderly woman even offered to let him pay first, but he declined, saying, "It’s fine, my car is behind theirs. If I don’t leave, they can’t leave either."

To the man in his 50s driving the Mercedes GLE (registration: AG* 8), you may believe you’re at the top of society, but your behaviour says otherwise. I hope you find it within yourself to apologise to this elderly couple one day.

To Yong Sheng management, I’m writing this review because your staff did nothing to defend the elderly couple when they were mistreated. They only apologised after the wealthy customer had left. This incident left me feeling deeply upset, and I left without making a purchase.

Delicious pastries for Chinese festive season.

Part of a chain that specialized in wedding and full moon gift set, handmade pastry, cookies, traditional Chinese biscuits and hampers. In the month or two preceding CNY the shop is filled with gift packs and hampers wrapped in vibrant red and gold colours, attracting customers to stroll in to see the ample selection of goodies. Particularly like their promotional package of 4 cans of Lunar New Year almond, hazelnut, walnut cookies at RM 100.00. These cans depict paintings of elegant Nonya ladies on their covers, and are good options as gifts during the festive season.
